"The sun setting on the longest day spent at a conference on Time and Change in China and the West in Beijing cannot help but conjure thoughts of ISST Founder J.T. Fraser—I miss him and send him greetings at every ISST event, and think he'd be pleased to know that there is a sequel to the 1986 conference on Time, Science and Society in China and the West. I raise a toast to him and to all ISST timesmiths and thank Emily for facilitating a virtual gathering—a lovely idea."

"The sky was clear all day, but some clouds started moving in right at dusk. They turned out to be minor, and only added character to the scene. In all, there were four of us - all strangers - at this location, and there were "ooh"s and "aaah"s all around. It was a very Human moment. I really felt connected to everything and everyone for a few fleeting minutes. Everyone was moved. I could tell. There were smiles all around as we parted ways."

"As the birds chirp away, I feel pretty peaceful. Lounging around in my comfy thrifted red flannel, there's no breeze, but it's not humid. It's perfect, to be honest, and the birds keep singing. Surrounded by these giant trees-the guardians of the street, I see spurts of sunlight reaching out to me through the spaces in between leaves, and it's like a kaleidoscope. And I feel as if the world has stopped, but I know it is still going on at the same time. And the birds chirp away."

"I thought this would be pretty straight forward, however, when the time actually came I had a few mixed feelings.
As I waited for sunset to occur, I had great expectations,
But at the moment, I was a little let down, as the sunset was not that spectacular, I also felt really happy and excited that this marked the beginning of summer, but also realized that from that moment on each day would gradually get a little shorter.
What I take away from this exercise is to appreciate what you have in the moment as that moment will never occur again."

"Upon seeing the setting sun, I feel that I'm turning to the next page in the story of my life, while reflecting on the choices I've made and what I would have changed if I was given the opportunity to rewrite that page, whether it be something I had said that I did not mean, or an opportunity I lost when I chose another. I wonder if I will be able to right the wrongs I made, or get the opportunities I chose to not do again, for the answers to all my questions await when the sun shows its face again."
